Fundraising Platform Terms

Prestbury.app · Last updated 17 September 2026

Important: these are the general platform terms. Individual campaigns, raffles, race nights, bingo events, ticketed events, competitions or other activities may have additional rules. Where a campaign-specific rule lawfully applies to that activity, it should be read together with these terms.

1. About prestbury.app

prestbury.app is a fundraising and event platform used by Prestbury organisations to create and administer campaigns, supporter activity, event ticketing and related fundraising functions.

The organisation named on the relevant fundraiser is responsible for that campaign and for ensuring the activity is run in accordance with applicable law, licensing/registration requirements and published campaign rules.

2. Using the platform

You must provide accurate information when making a purchase, donation, entry, booking or claim. You must not misuse public links, QR codes, tickets, accounts or organiser functions.

  • Do not attempt to access another person’s private ticket/account or internal organiser information
  • Do not submit fraudulent, abusive or deliberately misleading information
  • Do not interfere with the technical operation of the platform or event systems
  • Organiser/admin access must only be used by authorised users

3. Payments, donations and purchases

Prices, entry fees, donation amounts and payment arrangements are shown on the relevant campaign or event page. Payment may be handled by a third-party provider such as PayPal.

A transaction is not treated as successfully paid merely because a payment attempt was started. Platform records and the payment provider's confirmed status are used to determine whether payment has been completed.

Refunds, cancellations and chargebacks depend on the nature of the transaction, the applicable campaign/event rules, recoverable costs and consumer rights. A blanket “no refunds in any circumstances” rule does not apply.

4. Fundraising allocations

Campaign money may be allocated to a player, team, tour, event cost, shared fund or wider club/Academy purpose in accordance with the published campaign rules.

A fundraising allocation shown against a player or team is an accounting allocation for the campaign purpose and does not automatically create a personal cash entitlement.

5. Raffles, lotteries and regulated fundraising

Some fundraising activities may be regulated by gambling or lottery law. The organiser must decide the correct legal structure before launching the activity and obtain any registration, licence, permission or approval required for that specific format.

Campaign-specific raffle/lottery terms should identify the organiser, eligibility, ticket/entry rules, draw method, prizes, closing date and any legally required registration/licence details.

Where an activity cannot lawfully be offered remotely or online under the chosen exemption, prestbury.app must not be used to take remote participation for that activity.

6. Race nights, bingo and similar events

Non-commercial gaming and similar fundraising can be subject to specific legal limits and conditions. The organiser is responsible for using the correct format and ensuring stakes, prizes, proceeds, venue arrangements and remote participation comply with the rules that apply to that event.

The existence of a prestbury.app module does not itself mean that every possible use of that module is legally permitted.

7. Tickets, QR codes and public links

Digital tickets, account links, receipts or payout links may contain unique identifiers. They should be treated as private access credentials and not published or forwarded unnecessarily.

Where a ticket or entitlement has already been used, refunded, voided or replaced, the organiser may refuse further use of the old token/QR code.

8. Prizes and winnings

Prize availability, collection, payout method, eligibility and deadlines are governed by the specific event rules. Organisers may require reasonable evidence that the claimant is entitled to the prize or payout.

Prize or payout systems must not be used to circumvent applicable gambling, licensing, age or identity requirements.

9. Children and youth fundraising

Where campaigns are associated with children or youth teams, public information should be minimised and safeguarding standards followed. Supporters must not use campaign pages to contact children directly unless the relevant club/Academy process expressly permits and safeguards that contact.

10. Campaign content

Organisers are responsible for ensuring descriptions, prizes, targets, beneficiaries and event information are accurate and not misleading. Campaigns must not contain unlawful, abusive, discriminatory or unsafe content.

11. Changes, suspension and cancellation

An organiser may make reasonable operational changes where necessary, but material changes should be communicated clearly and should not remove statutory rights.

Campaigns, transactions or accounts may be suspended where reasonably necessary for security, suspected fraud, legal compliance, safeguarding or serious breach of these terms.

12. Data protection

Personal information is handled under our Fundraising Privacy Notice and Cookie & Storage Technology Policy.

13. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so. Third-party payment, messaging or other external services may also be subject to their own terms and availability.

14. Governing law

These general terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory rights that apply to the individual user or specific regulated activity.
